Feed aggregatorAndroid accounts for one-quarter of mobile web traffic, says Quantcast
It's terribly difficult to get reliable statistics, as numbers tend to vary drastically depending upon whom you ask, but if you're inclined to believe that Android is mopping up Apple and RIM's declining mobile mindshare in the US, you'll find nothing but corroboration from Quantcast. The analytics firm reckons a full one-quarter of mobile web traffic stateside comes from devices running Google's OS, though it's important to know that the iOS tallies apparently don't include the web-friendly iPad. You also might want to note that this is mobile web traffic here -- these days, we spend an increasing amount of our internet time in apps -- and since we're on a roll with the disclaimers, let's just add that these numbers have nothing to do with a company's financial success. Nokia can attest to that.Android accounts for one-quarter of mobile web traffic, says Quantcast originally appeared on Engadget on Sat, 04 Sep 2010 19:02:00 EDT. Whiskey from diabetics' urine
Gilpin Family whisky is a new single malt whisky made from the urine of diabetics. Creator James Gilpin doesn't sell the stuff, but rather gives away bottles as a public health statement. From the product page:
Sugar heavy urine excreted by diabetic patients is now being utilized
for the fermentation of high-end single malt whisky for export. The Whisky market is growing faster then any other alcoholic beverage worldwide. With a prevalent genetic weakness being exposed in the northern hemisphere leading to a sharp rise in type two diabetes, economists have found a new exportable commodity to exploit and are keen to capitalize on this resource quickly.
Large amounts of sugar are excreted on
a daily basis by type-two diabetic patients especially amongst the upper end of our aging population. As a result of this diabetic patients toilets often have unusual scale build up in
the basin due and rapid mould growths as
the sugar put into the system acts as nutrients
for mould and bacteria growth. Is it plausible
to suggest that we start utilizing our water purification systems in order to harvest the biological resources that our elderly already process in abundance?

Baby Formula Contaminated With Aluminum, 40 Times More Than Breast Milk
New research from the UK found that a range of well known brands of baby formula sold there contain too much aluminum. Even though it’s common knowledge that infant formulas have been contaminated with aluminum for decades, this new study published in the journal BMC Pediatrics, raises concern over children’s health risks, pointing out that levels are still too high.
